Daewoong Pharmaceutical announced a vision to build a "nationwide 24-hour health monitoring system" that consolidates hospitals and homes to manage patients' health status and unveiled "All New THINK," an integrated artificial intelligence (AI) healthcare platform to realize it.
On the 23rd at JW Marriott Hotel Dongdaemun in Seoul, the company held a briefing titled "Digital Healthcare vision – a connected daily life opens the era of 24-hour nationwide health monitoring," introducing its Digital Healthcare strategy, the value of platform technology based on partnerships with partner companies, and real-world medical field applications.
Park Hyung-cheol, Deputy Minister of Daewoong Pharmaceutical's ETC (ethical drugs) Division, said, "Digital Healthcare, buoyed by active adoption by medical staff, has quickly taken root as a core solution that strengthens patient safety," adding, "It has now moved beyond the adoption phase to become an essential technology that benefits corporations, clinicians, and patients alike."
In clinical settings, cases have been reported in which the "THINK" smart bed monitoring system's abnormal sign alarms enabled early response to patients on the verge of cardiac arrest. Based on this, the company plans to advance home monitoring technology to strengthen care consolidation outside the hospital.
Daewoong Pharmaceutical ultimately plans to build a "24-hour health monitoring system" that continuously manages patients' conditions even after discharge. In connection with the chronic disease management platform "WellCheck," it will expand a continuous management framework centered on primary care institutions, the so-called "digital health safety net."
It also presented business goals. This year, the company will expand "THINK" deployment to more than 100,000 beds and push to achieve 300 billion won in annual revenue in the Digital Healthcare institutional sector.
At the event, the integrated platform "All New THINK," jointly built with Seers Technology, iKooP of GC Biopharma Group's Digital Healthcare affiliate, Sky Labs, and Puzzle AI, was also unveiled. All New THINK is an AI healthcare platform that goes beyond smart bed monitoring to integrate and manage diverse patient data.
In addition to vital data such as electrocardiograms, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation collected via wearable sensors, it is designed to link ▲ continuous glucose monitoring ▲ ring-type continuous blood pressure monitoring ▲ an AI voice recognition-based medical record solution so that patient data can be managed on a single screen.
Clinicians also offered assessments of clinical utility. Yang Moon-sul, Chairperson of the Future Healthcare Committee at the Korean Hospital Association, said, "The introduction of a real-time inpatient monitoring system has strengthened early triage of high-risk patients and preemptive response systems," adding, "If expanded to small and midsize hospitals, it will contribute to improving care quality and easing regional disparities."
Lee Young-shin, CEO of Seers Technology, said, "All New THINK is evolving into an AI-based platform that supports clinicians' decisions by integrating and analyzing diverse medical data beyond vital detection," adding, "We will expand beyond in-hospital monitoring to emergency and home settings and build a full-cycle monitoring infrastructure that consolidates the patient treatment journey."
Lee Gyu-min, president of the Small and Medium Hospital Nurses Association, noted, "Central monitoring has enabled rapid assessment of patients' conditions across entire wards, improving the work efficiency of nursing staff."
