Lotte Biologics said on the 12th that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Yeonsu-gu, Incheon, for the sustainable development of the bio industry and the creation of local jobs.
Through this agreement, the two sides agreed to cooperate in a variety of areas, including ▲ activation of a bio-specialized complex ▲ workforce development in the contract development and manufacturing (CDMO) field ▲ creation of local jobs ▲ improvement of environmental conditions and social contribution.
Lotte Biologics plans to revitalize the local economy based on its cooperation with Yeonsu-gu and boost the competitiveness of the bio cluster centered on Songdo International City. In particular, during the construction of the first Songdo plant, which is scheduled for completion in the second half of this year, the company expects to establish a stable operational foundation with administrative support from Yeonsu-gu.
In addition, they will promote cooperation for road and infrastructure construction, basic facility development, and securing talent within Songdo District 11. Through this, they aim to contribute not only to revitalizing the local economy but also to the overall growth of the bio industry.
Yun Young-su, head of the communications institutional sector at Lotte Biologics, said, "To grow into a global CDMO corporations, coexistence with the local community and close cooperation are essential," adding, "We will contribute to regional development by building the ecosystem of the Songdo bio-specialized complex and continue to provide products and services with quality competitiveness."
Yeonsu-gu Chief Lee Jae-ho said, "Beyond simply attracting corporations, the core of this agreement is for residents to work at global bio corporations and grow together with the region," adding, "We will spare no administrative support so that tangible benefits, such as preferential hiring of local residents, can be realized."
