GC Wellbeing, an affiliate of GC Biopharma, said on the 6th it appointed Jeong Si-young, Ph.D., as the new head of research and development.
Jeong, head of research and development, graduated from Yeungnam University College of Pharmacy and received master's and doctoral degrees from the same graduate school. Jeong has since worked across the pharmaceutical and biotech industry in research and development (R&D), business development (BD), and regulatory affairs (RA).
Jeong handled formulation research and overseas regulatory affairs (RA), as well as licensing and development strategy at Hanmi Pharmaceutical, and served as Director of the clinical development team at LG CHEM, overseeing clinical development and clinical trial management (CRM). Jeong later led global regulatory affairs as head of overseas regulatory management and head of the business development and investment operations team at HUGEL, and at S&B Bioscience, Jeong oversaw new drug and pipeline development as head of research and development.
Most recently, at CHA Vaccine, Jeong led vaccine and new drug development strategies while serving as head of strategy, business development, and research and development.
