Merck Life Science said on Jan. 5 it has appointed Kim Young-im as the new head of process solutions at Korea Merck Life Science.
Merck Life Science is a science and technology corporations headquartered in Germany and is a separate legal entity from Merck (MSD) in the United States. It operates not only in pharmaceuticals and life sciences but also in electronic materials.
Korea Merck Life Science recently reorganized its division structure and, from the 1st, has been operating around three divisions: ▲process solutions, ▲discovery solutions, and ▲advanced solutions.
Among them, the process solutions division is a business unit that provides raw materials and process systems used in the development and production stages of biopharmaceuticals.
Kim Young-im is a business expert with more than 25 years of broad experience in organizational operations, marketing, and sales at global corporations. Before joining Merck, Kim served as CEO of Mettler Toledo Korea, a precision measurement and analytical instruments corporations, and PerkinElmer Korea, a chemical analysis solutions corporations. Kim graduated from Chonnam National University with a degree in microbiology and completed an MBA program at the Korea University Graduate School of Business.
