iKooB, the Digital Healthcare affiliate of GC Biopharma Group, said on the 8th that it signed a strategic partnership with Daewoong Pharmaceutical.
The two companies will jointly pursue a plan to load iKooB's real-time blood glucose monitoring platform "LabConnect continuous glucose monitor (CGM) Live" onto Daewoong Pharmaceutical's smart hospital bed monitoring system "thynC."
CGM Live is a ward-use continuous blood glucose monitoring platform released on Sep. in , equipped with functions such as ▲ integrated dashboard for managed patients ▲ automatic data collection ▲ abnormal glucose alerts ▲ medication management ▲ patient-specific notifications.
Daewoong Pharmaceutical is rapidly expanding its Digital Healthcare business around "thynC," and is also accelerating the creation of an integrated digital hospital environment that links biosignal-based medical data with electronic medical records (EMR), in addition to bed monitoring.
Through this collaboration, the two companies expect to enable an integrated monitoring system within thynC that manages real-time blood glucose and vital signs together. In particular, safety and work efficiency are expected to improve simultaneously in intensive care units and high-risk wards.
In most wards now, nurses must visit rooms multiple times to measure blood glucose directly, and patients have faced significant inconvenience from repeated blood draws, including at night. With the adoption of CGM Live, continuous measurement becomes possible, which is expected to reduce the burden on nursing staff, minimize patient discomfort, and improve the quality of blood glucose management.
