GenBody, a diagnostics kit company, will supply additional rapid diagnostic kits to a Brazilian public institution.
GenBody said on the 1st that it signed a contract to supply an additional 8.4 million tests of combined HIV and syphilis diagnostic kits with Bio-Manguinhos under THE OSWALDO CRUZ FOUNDATION, a key institution in Brazil's health sector. The volume exceeds the 6.1 million tests supplied this year, and deliveries will proceed in phases through the second half of next year.
GenBody's combined HIV and syphilis diagnostic kit uses a professional lateral flow rapid test (LFRT) method, allowing confirmation of HIV and syphilis infection at the same time within 20 minutes. It can be used on-site without separate complex equipment.
The company plans to use this contract to expand its presence in Latin America, including Brazil, and to accelerate its global expansion. In particular, it sees the self-test product lineup as a new growth driver beyond professional-use products. Self-test products currently undergoing certification by Brazil's health authority (ANVISA) include HIV, syphilis, and hepatitis C (HCV) kits, as well as products based on a vertical flow rapid test (VFRT) platform that can diagnose multiple infectious diseases simultaneously.
