Medytox said on the 26th that its affiliate Numeco received marketing authorization in El Salvador for the botulinum toxin product "Newlux."
El Salvador is an emerging Latin American country where demand for aesthetic procedures such as botulinum toxin and fillers is steadily increasing due to economic growth and the spread of social media (SNS).
Medytox registered the botulinum toxin "Meditoxin (export name Neuronox)" in El Salvador in 2009 and the hyaluronic acid filler "Neuramis" in 2020. The company said it has built its presence in the local market around these two product lines and projected that sales this year will increase by more than 50% from a year earlier.
Numeco plans to use Medytox's existing sales network and pursue a marketing strategy linked with filler products so that the newly approved Newlux can gain a foothold in the local market. A Numeco official said, "We will use our entry into El Salvador as a springboard to expand our push in Latin America."
Newlux is a botulinum toxin product that improves production yield and quality by applying the latest processes, and Medytox is accelerating its global expansion with it at the forefront. In Latin America, it entered Bolivia and the Dominican Republic following Peru last year, and it is also expanding launches in Asia and Europe, including Thailand, Georgia, and Moldova.
