SD BIOSENSOR said on the 13th that it continued to post a loss, recording an operating loss of 14 billion won on a consolidation basis in the third quarter of this year. Sales for the same period were 164.2 billion won, down 3.8% from a year earlier, and it swung to a net loss of 9.9 billion won.
Cumulative third-quarter sales were 516 billion won, operating loss was 41.9 billion won, and earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) came to 56.8 billion won. However, due to revenue from a corporate tax refund, net profit was 2,464 won.
Cumulative third-quarter sales at the Korea headquarters were 210.5 billion won, up 4.9% from a year earlier. The Italy and Panama subsidiaries both posted operating profits.
An SD BIOSENSOR official said, "At the 'Korea-Global Fund procurement forum for entering the Ode to My Father' held last month, we presented procurement cases for infectious disease diagnostic kits such as HIV and malaria and proved the company's strong product development capabilities and mass production capacity," and added, "Going forward, we will secure cost competitiveness through a cost-efficient production system using global production bases in Korea, India, Indonesia, Nigeria and Brazil, and accelerate continued sales growth."
SD BIOSENSOR plans to participate in the global medical exhibition MEDICA 2025, to be held on Nov. 17 in Düsseldorf, Germany, and unveil a new platform.
