SK Chemicals said on the 5th that third-quarter consolidation operating profit came to 15.1 billion won. It swung to a profit from an operating loss of 12.5 billion won in the same period a year earlier. Revenue rose 43% to 609.9 billion won.
Excluding subsidiaries, standalone revenue and operating profit were 371.5 billion won and 29.9 billion won, respectively. They increased 12% and 1% from a year earlier. The pharmaceuticals (Pharma) division saw higher sales of the blood circulation enhancer Ginkgo-medicine and the arthritis treatment Joins. The Green Chemical division generated stable revenue from specialty products.
Despite the economic slowdown, subsidiary SK bioscience improved its performance and expanded sales of high value-added products, the company said.
