The Hallym Burn Foundation said on the 4th that it received a 15 million won donation from Samsung Lions pitcher Lim Chang-min for pediatric burn patients.
The foundation held a donation ceremony the day before at the burn hospital school of Hallym University Sacred Heart Hospital and presented a sponsorship certificate to Lim. Lim's giving began with 10 million won in 2022 and has continued for four years, bringing the cumulative donations to a total of 50 million won.
This donation will be used for the medical expenses of three low-income pediatric burn patients. Pediatric burn patients must repeatedly undergo skin reconstruction and graft surgeries to keep pace with physical growth. If surgery is not performed in time, they may face developmental challenges due to skin contracture.
Choi Jong-gil, secretary-general of the Hallym Burn Foundation, said, "The steady interest and sharing by Lim Chang-min are a great help to pediatric burn patients struggling with medical bills," adding, "We are sincerely grateful for conveying a warm heart with unchanging good deeds every year."
Lim Chang-min said, "I hope my small contribution will help those continuing difficult treatment," adding, "I will continue to practice sharing in the future."
The Social Welfare Corporation Hallym Burn Foundation was established in 2008 to support the physical, psychological, and social recovery of burn patients in difficult circumstances. It continues tailored support for patients with financial hardships and works to strengthen the social safety net.
