Medical artificial intelligence (AI) corporations Lunit said on the 30th that it will be the only medical AI company to take part in the official exhibition hall of the "2025 APEC Summit (APEC 2025 KOREA, hereafter APEC Summit)," which runs in Gyeongju through the 1st of next month.
On this day, Prime Minister Kim Min-seok visited Lunit's booth set up at the Advanced Future Industry Hall in Gyeongju Expo Grand Park and observed a demonstration of Lunit's cancer diagnosis AI solution "Lunit Insight."
On site, Lunit Chief Executive Officer Seo Beom-seok demonstrated to Prime Minister Kim how AI analyzes mammography and chest X-ray images to assess the likelihood of cancer and explained the status of its global expansion.
To showcase Korea's core industrial competitiveness to the world, the exhibition within this APEC Summit, hosted by the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), was organized into a semiconductor hall, mobility hall, and shipbuilding and marine hall.
Lunit was selected as the only exhibiting company in the medical AI field and is exhibiting in the semiconductor hall alongside Samsung Electronics, FuriosaAI, Rebellions, and Angel Robotics.
Earlier, Lunit also took part in a dedicated session at the APEC High-Level Meeting on Health and the Economy (APEC HLMHE) and the World Bio Summit (WBS 2025), held in Seoul on Sept. 9.
Seo Beom-seok, Lunit's CEO, said, "It is meaningful that Lunit was officially invited to a large-scale international event, as it symbolizes that medical AI is growing into a key national industry," and added, "Lunit will continue to innovate based on its proven AI technological prowess, and going forward, we will lead the global healthcare ecosystem as a representative of Korea."
Meanwhile, the APEC Summit was attended by major world leaders including U.S. President Donald Trump and China's President Xi Jinping. CEO Seo took part in the "APEC CEO Summit," which drew a large contingent of industry leaders such as CEO Jensen Huang and Johnson & Johnson (J&J) CEO Joaquin Duato, strengthening global networking.
