A person in their 50s who overcame cancer left after giving five people new lives through organ donation.
The Korea Organ Donation Agency (KODA) said on the 18th that Yoon Gi-myeong, 55, died after donating his heart, lungs, liver, and both kidneys at Pusan National University Hospital on Jul. 21. Earlier, Yoon collapsed in his car on the way to work and was taken to a hospital but did not regain consciousness.
Born in Busan, Yoon liked sports and played on his high school baseball team. Because of difficult family circumstances, he did not achieve his dream. He joined KEPCO KPS and worked there for 34 years. Yoon was diagnosed with cancer in 2018, battled the disease for five years, and was declared cured. He was highly responsible and was caring toward his family.
Yoon's wife left this letter through the donation agency. "I played a lot of pranks, and I'm grateful you accepted them and understood me with love. In the next life, I hope you are born as my wife and live that way. I love you very much."
