Seoul Asan Medical Center and Korea University Medical Center said on the 12th that RM (real name Kim Nam-jun) of the K-pop group BTS delivered 100 million won in donations to each institution. The total is 200 million won.
RM made the donation to mark his birthday on Sept. 12. RM said, "I decided to donate because I wanted to take part in something meaningful on my birthday," and noted, "I hope this will provide at least a small help to patients who desperately need treatment but are suffering due to financial hardship."
Seoul Asan Medical Center plans to use RM's donation to support medical and surgical expenses for underprivileged patients. Korea University Medical Center said it plans to use RM's contribution to improve the clinical environment and expand various medical services.
RM has made donations every year on Sept. 12 to commemorate his birthday. 4th, he delivered 100 million won to a veterans fund, and in 2023 he donated to the Korean Society for Legal Medicine. In 2021 and 2022, he donated to the Overseas Korean Cultural Heritage Foundation, spreading positive influence for the restoration and preservation of cultural heritage. The BTS fandom "Army (ARMY)" has also carried out good deeds across the world.
