On the 5th, the subsidiary of the satellite system development company Satrec Initiative, SI Imaging Services, announced that it has signed a satellite imagery supply contract worth tens of millions of euros with major institutions in Europe, based on the 25 cm ultra-high-resolution optical satellite SpaceEye-T.
This contract was made through a satellite leasing service model that allows clients to obtain imaging data without directly holding the satellite. Notably, this contract is a long-term agreement spanning multiple years and is significant as it represents the first commercial service model capable of providing near-real-time data through SpaceEye-T. Clients are guaranteed exclusive operational rights for specific areas and can freely utilize the captured images through the satellite leasing service model.
SpaceEye-T is the first ultra-high-resolution commercial Earth observation satellite developed by Satrec Initiative with independent capital and technology, providing some of the highest resolution among commercially operated satellites currently in orbit.
Kim Mun-kyu, the CEO of SI Imaging Services, noted, "The satellite leasing service has high competitiveness in terms of data accessibility and security, leading to a rapid increase in global demand recently," and added, "This contract can be seen as a significant example of how Satrec Initiative's commercial satellite SpaceEye-T has secured trust in the international market and has officially joined the new trends in the global space industry."
