Vivozon Pharmaceutical announced on the 4th that the initial shipment of the non-narcotic analgesic 'Unafra Injection' has arrived in the country, and preparations for its official launch are underway.
Unafra (ingredient name: opiranzerin) is a non-narcotic analgesic injection that received item approval from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety as Korea's 38th domestic new drug in December of last year. It is used for the management of moderate to severe acute pain after surgery.
According to the company, the product is being contract-manufactured in the United States and will be brought into the country via air freight on three different occasions. The first shipment arriving on the 5th will consist of about 5,000 vials, which will be prioritized for supply to the hospital pharmacy committee (DC) review and others. An additional shipment of approximately 53,000 vials will also arrive sequentially, with plans for serious distribution starting from mid-month.
A representative from Vivozon Pharmaceutical said, 'The domestic sales of Unafra are about to take off,' and 'We will shift the paradigm of the treatment market for moderate to severe acute pain with the launch of Unafra, the world's first non-narcotic and non-steroidal analgesic.'
