LG CHEM announced on the 4th that it will exclusively sell "UK Taurokite 2% Injection" in the country. The UK Taurokite 2% Injection is an antibacterial agent that prevents infections at surgical sites.
The main ingredient, Taurolidine, is a substance derived from taurine. It binds to biological cell walls to produce active antibacterial agents. The company noted that washing the surgical site with Taurokite during surgeries for peritonitis, bone and soft tissue damage, and pleural cavity abscess can prevent infections.
Taurokite was developed by the pharmaceutical company UK Chemipham, which recently received product approval. All processes from raw materials to finished products are produced domestically. The existing three-step cap opening method has been reduced to two steps, allowing medical staff to easily and safely dilute and prepare the injection.
Choi Min-young, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of UK Chemipham, said, "We have increased safety and efficiency so that medical staff can focus on surgeries." Hwang In-cheol, head of the Primary Care Division at LG CHEM, said, "We introduced Taurokite after in-depth analysis of customer demand in treatment settings."
