Former Chancellor of CHA University, Choi Won-tae, was appointed on the 1st as Vice Chairman ofcha Hospital and CHA Biotech Group and Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO) of CHA Biotech. Vice Chairman Choi is the eldest son of CHA Group's founder, Cha Kwang-ryul, who is also the Director of the Global Comprehensive Research Institute.
Vice Chairman Choi graduated from Duke University with a degree in biological anatomy. He holds a Master of Public Health from Yale University, an MBA from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and a Ph.D. in Health from Yonsei University. He previously served as Chief Operating Officer of CHA Health Systems, which operates CHA Hospital in Hollywood, and as Chief Strategy Officer of CHA Hospital in Hollywood before becoming Chancellor of CHA University.
Vice Chairman Choi has taken on the role of discovering growth drivers for the group. He plans to strengthen ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management while pursuing sustainability.
