A man in his 50s, who fell into a coma, donated organs to four people, giving them a new life before passing away.
The Korea Organ Donation Agency (KODA) announced on the 27th that Mr. Son Beom-jae (53) passed away after donating his heart, both lungs, and liver to a recipient at a hospital in Uijeongbu on the 18th of last month. Earlier, Mr. Son collapsed while taking a break after finishing work on the 7th of last month and was transported to the hospital but did not regain consciousness.
Mr. Son was the youngest of five siblings born in Guri, Gyeonggi Province. Due to his family's financial struggles, he obtained a certification right after graduating from middle school and began working in a factory. Despite the tough work of cutting and machining metal, he always remained cheerful and was quick to help those in need.
Mr. Son married a spouse from Vietnam and had two daughters. On weekends, he would go camping with his children and took on household chores first. Mr. Son's spouse left this letter through the donation agency: "Walk only on the flower path in heaven and live happily. I will raise the kids well without them getting sick. I love you. Thank you."
