Huons Global announced on the 14th that it recorded a consolidated revenue of 212.7 billion won in the second quarter of this year. This is an increase of 1.4% compared to the same period last year. Operating profit decreased by 16.9% to 25.3 billion won. Net profit was 11.5 billion won, down 50%.
The competition for botulinum toxin in Korea is fierce, resulting in a decline in operating profit. The increase in research and development (R&D) expenses also affected the decrease in operating profit. Huons Group's research and development expenses for the first half of this year amounted to 34 billion won, a 4% increase compared to the same period last year.
Huons reported consolidated revenue of 156 billion won and operating profit of 13.1 billion won in the second quarter of this year. This is an increase of 4.7% and 40.3% compared to the same period last year, respectively. Net profit rose 46.5% to 11.8 billion won. Revenue from prescription drugs was 69.2 billion won, and revenue from beauty and wellness was 42.2 billion won. Huons' subsidiaries, Huons En and Huons Life Science, reported second quarter revenues of 18.7 billion won and 6.4 billion won, respectively, representing increases of 76.7% and 29.5% compared to the same period last year.
Humedix, the aesthetic subsidiary of Huons Group, reported individual sales of 43 billion won in the second quarter, a decrease of 6.3% compared to the same period last year. Operating profit was 10.8 billion won, and net profit was 7.9 billion won, down 17.3% and 33.5%, respectively. Healthcare material subsidiary Huens MC reported consolidated revenue of 13.4 billion won in the second quarter, a 21.9% increase compared to the same period last year. Operating profit decreased by 40.3% to 800 million won.
Huons Biopharma, a subsidiary producing botulinum toxin, reported second quarter revenue of 7.8 billion won, with an operating profit of 300 million won. Medical device subsidiary Huons Meditech generated revenue of 14.3 billion won and an operating profit of 500 million won. Meal kit subsidiary Food Assemble recorded revenue of 2.1 billion won and an operating loss of 400 million won. Meanwhile, Huons Global recently decided on a cash dividend of 130 won per share at its board meeting. The record date for the dividend is August 21.
