The Ministry of Science and ICT selected six research industry corporations with excellent research and development (R&D) capabilities as 'excellent specialized research service providers' on 7th, and held a certificate award ceremony. In the field of commissioned research, iSciLab and Funzin were selected; in research management, E&F Advisor and T-Lab were chosen; in the research equipment area, IVIM Technology and Park Systems were selected. Benefits include preferential treatment when selecting designated companies for military service, when participating in related national R&D projects, and priority consideration for government commendations and awards. The Ministry of Science and ICT plans to designate excellent specialized research service providers annually.
The National Science Museum will host a special exhibition titled 'Records of Science We Write' from the 10th of this month to September 28th in the Science Hall lobby. This exhibition highlights the stories of research and inventions that sought scientific answers to the dilemmas of the era through Korea's representative science competitions spanning more than half a century. The exhibition will center around stories of individuals, including students from island villages who received the President's Award for observing the cycles of tides. Particularly, voice commentaries restructured using artificial intelligence (AI) technology will be provided based on the research reports of the award winners. This exhibition is free and open to everyone.
The National Children's Science Museum will operate a science cultural event titled 'Shooting Flight Arcade' during this summer vacation, which the whole family can participate in. From the 15th to the 17th, this event will take place in the Dream Tree Hill and the science theater on the first floor of the museum, where children can learn the principles of science playfully and enjoyably through nine types of games, experiments, and making activities focused on the theme of 'flight.' The University of Science and Technology (UST) has been finally selected as the operating institution for the 'Immigrant Early Adjustment Program (Foreign Student Sector)' organized by the Ministry of Justice. The immigrant early adjustment program systematically provides long-term foreign entrants with information about the institutions, legal order, culture, and living in Korean society to assist their initial settlement. UST will conduct related education on basic laws, systems, medical care, housing, transportation, communication, life information, and crime prevention necessary for adaptation to Korean society with the support of the Ministry of Justice and will support the stable early settlement of foreign students in Korea.
