The University of Science and Technology (UST) held the graduation ceremony and field trip for the first class of its Korean employment concentration management and support program 'UST U-LINK Pathfinder' on July 31 and August 1. This program targets foreign graduate students affiliated with UST and the four major science and technology institutes preparing for employment in Korea. The graduation ceremony included a seminar on job search strategies for foreigners and a visit to the Hwaseong Haenggung Palace to understand Korean history, as well as learning about the birth and development of global electronics corporations in Korea through a tour of the Samsung Innovation Museum.
The Gwacheon National Science Museum will hold a 'Midsummer Night Special Observation' event as part of its initiative to spread scientific culture during the summer vacation. The event will take place from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. on August 12 at the Gwacheon National Science Museum and will feature various content such as real-time celestial observation, an experience in the planetarium, and a live broadcast of 'Starry Radio (Byeolbora)'. Participation is free, and advance reservation is required. Reservations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis starting from 9 a.m. on August 5 through the Gwacheon National Science Museum's website (www.sciencecenter.go.kr), and anyone aged 7 and older (accompanied by a guardian for ages 7-13) can participate.
The National Science Museum announced that it will operate the 63rd Science Culture University, an educational program for adults, every Thursday from August 28 to December 4. Lectures will cover understanding traditional science through sky observation and how artificial intelligence (AI) is changing our society. Field trips related to the lectures will also be arranged. Applications for enrollment will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis through the National Science Museum's educational reservation system from August 11 to 20, and the tuition fee is 150,000 won (field trip fee separate). The Korea Aerospace Administration and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs held a New Space seminar in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on July 31, and in Bangkok, Thailand, on August 4, to strengthen cooperation in the space sector with local government agencies and private corporations. A total of 14 domestic space corporations participated, including 12 from Malaysia and 9 from Thailand. The space agencies of both countries announced their space policies and development directions, while our corporations introduced their respective technological capabilities and intentions for collaboration. A one-on-one networking session was also set up to directly confirm practical cooperation needs and discuss specific collaboration plans with local agencies and corporations.
