On the afternoon of the 15th, the Korea Institute of Industrial Technology (KITECH) held a 'mutual appointment ceremony for academic professors' with Chung-Ang University at the Human-Centered Manufacturing Technology Research Institute in Ansan. In this event, 28 researchers from KITECH were appointed as academic professors at Chung-Ang University, while 27 professors from Chung-Ang University received dual appointments as KITECH adjunct researchers. Experts in manufacturing artificial intelligence (AI) expressed their willingness to participate and were appointed as academic professors, with plans to initiate educational and research collaborations with adjunct researchers from Chung-Ang University in the fields of AI, energy, semiconductors, and next-generation mobility.
The Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI) announced that it unveiled the 'e-PreTX platform' earlier last month, allowing anyone to easily experience, share, and communicate research outcomes of software developed through research and development (R&D) projects. Users can access technology developed by ETRI and execute and experience it directly in a cloud environment without complex installation or procedures, as well as customize its use according to their work environment. ETRI plans to disclose not only AI models but also the latest research results and data in the field of quantum computing through the e-PreTX platform in the future.
The Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) and Ewha Womans University announced that they signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on the 14th at the main conference room of Ewha Womans University for research cooperation and the cultivation of science and technology talents. This agreement aims to strengthen academic cooperation in future core technology areas and nurture professionals who can contribute to the development of national science and technology. The two institutions plan to promote cooperative and joint research for national research and development projects, mutual technology and personnel exchanges, and the training of specialized female talent in science and technology based on research cooperation in next-generation semiconductors, AI and robotics, climate and environment, and natural products and new drug technology development.
The National Research Council of Science & Technology (NST) held a symposium on 'commercialization policy for grants in realization of a complete R&D' at the Korea Science and Technology Center on the 15th. About 200 stakeholders from industry, academia, and research attended the event and discussed and agreed on the necessity of establishing an integrated support system for technology commercialization to drive the early growth of R&D results. NST plans to prepare for the full-scale construction of the integrated support platform for technology commercialization (NSMAP) based on various opinions and consensus identified at this symposium and will continue to develop detailed execution strategies.
