Vice Minister Lee Hyeong-hoon visited the Korean Medical Association Organization on the 8th. This follows Prime Minister Kim Min-seok's meeting the day before with representatives of the association, medical students, and residents, creating a mood for seeking solutions to the conflicts between the government and the medical community.
According to the ministry, the Vice Minister met with Chairman Kim Taek-woo of the association at the association's headquarters in Yongsan District, Seoul, that morning. This is the first time the Vice Minister has visited the association since taking office at the end of last month. The Vice Minister heard opinions on the return of residents and measures for medical normalization.
The Vice Minister also visited the Korean Hospital Association and the Korean Nursing Association (KNA) that day. The Vice Minister plans to sequentially meet with health and medical organizations such as the Association of Korean Medicine (AKOM), the Korean Dental Association, and the Korean Pharmaceutical Association, starting with this visit. This is to share current issues with each organization and request cooperation on policies.
The Vice Minister noted, "While promoting policies, I will reflect the difficulties on the ground," adding, "I will communicate based on trust with the medical community to protect the lives and health of the people."
