Seoul National University College of Engineering announced that Professor Lee Hyuk-jae from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering is the recipient of the 2025 Excellent Engineering Professor Award (Education Award), Professor Joo Young-chang from the Department of Materials Science and Engineering is awarded the Academic Award, and Professor Lee Jong-chan from the Department of Chemical and Bioengineering is honored with the Industry-Academia Partnership Award. The award ceremony was held on the 21st at the Engineering House on the Seoul National University Gwanak Campus. The Excellent Engineering Professor Award was established to promote the research activities of Seoul National University professors and advance industrial technology.
The Korean Intellectual Property Office announced that it will hold the 2025 Women Inventors Expo from the 22nd to the 24th at Hall 10 of KINTEX Exhibition Center in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province. This expo is an event where inventions from domestic and international women who have applied for or registered their intellectual property rights in patents, utility models, and designs can be showcased together. The 25th Women Invention Exhibition will feature participation from 60 domestic women invention companies. The 18th Korea World Women Invention Competition will showcase over 440 inventions from women inventors from around the world.
Yonsei University announced that a team led by Professor Chae Chan-byeong at the College of Artificial Intelligence Convergence demonstrated next-generation mobile communication (6G) core technologies at the IEEE 6G Summit Dresden 2025, a global telecommunications technology event held in Dresden, Germany. Core technologies of 6G such as augmented reality (AR) glass-based semantic communication, Pixel MIMO, and full-duplex (FD) communication in the upper mid-band were unveiled. Professor Chae delivered a special lecture on the achievements of 6G technology development at Yonsei University.
