Lee Sang-mok, head of the Korea Institute of Industrial Technology, has been appointed as an honorary professor at the University of Science and Technology (UST). The title of honorary professor at UST is conferred on individuals who have served as faculty for over 15 years and have made significant contributions in education and academic achievements, serving as a role model for other faculty members, or even to those who have held positions such as school representative professor, regardless of their length of service being less than 15 years.
Director Lee served as the representative professor of the institute from 2018 to 2020. He has been at the forefront of improving practical talent development and educational systems focused on research, and has been recognized for discovering and promoting practical improvements, including expanding on-site training education in manufacturing and enhancing school operations to produce outstanding graduates.
The appointment ceremony took place on the 21st at the Korea Institute of Industrial Technology's Human-Centered Production Technology Research Institute in Ansan, attended by UST President Kang Dae-im and other officials from both institutions.
