The Korea Science and Technology Promotion Association announced on the 12th that Hwang Pan-sik, former head of the Research and Development Policy Office at the Ministry of Science and ICT, has been appointed as the 8th chairman. Chairman Hwang was elected as the 8th chairman at the House of Delegates on April 25 and held an inauguration ceremony after receiving approval from the Minister of Science and ICT.
In his inaugural speech, Chairman Hwang noted, "I will firmly uphold the founding purpose of the association to support the stable retirement and happy lives of scientists while leading a new leap and long-term growth for the association through member-centered service innovation and sound and stable asset management."
Chairman Hwang graduated from the Department of Business Administration at Seoul National University and obtained a master's degree from the same university. He has served as the Director of the Future Talent Policy Bureau, the Director of Basic and Fundamental Research Policy, and the head of the Research and Development Policy Office at the Ministry of Science and ICT.
