The health supplement brand 'All-in-One Multivitamin' by Korea Eundan has been ordered to halt sales and recalls by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety due to excessive iodine detection.
According to the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety on the 22nd, the recall target is the 1560 mg 60-tablet product marked with a consumption date of February 10, 2027, and the barcode number is '8809497531729.'
The product was marked as containing 60 micrograms of iodine; however, actual measurements detected 129.6 micrograms. This is a value exceeding the permissible range (80-150% of the marked amount), corresponding to 216%. Iodine is essential for the synthesis of thyroid hormones, but excessive intake may lead to side effects such as thyroid dysfunction, so caution is necessary.
This product hired Yoo Jae-suk as an advertising model for promotion and recorded the highest domestic sales volume based on production results in 2022.
The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety urged consumers who have the product in their possession to immediately stop taking it and return it to the place of purchase. It also requested that sellers immediately halt sales.
