
CHA Biotech announced on the 28th that it will appoint Choi Seok-yoon, former advisor at MERITZ Securities, as vice chairman, who will be elected as CEO after the shareholders' meeting and board of directors on the 31st. The company plans to strengthen its global capabilities significantly by bringing in new management, including Vice Chairman Choi.
Vice Chairman Choi has over 40 years of experience in the investment banking sector. He has held positions at JP Morgan, Daewoo Securities' Tokyo and London branches, Credit Suisse, Barclays, RBS as the Korea representative, and Goldman Sachs as co-representative in Korea. After teaching for three years at his alma mater, Seoul National University's College of Business Administration, he served as president of the corporate sector at MERITZ Fire & Marine Insurance and as an advisor at MERITZ Securities.
To expand its healthcare business in Asia, including the Japanese hospital sector, President Han Ki-won has also been recruited. President Han worked for 25 years at Daiwa Securities, serving as the global head of the institutional sector in Tokyo and London, and was active for four years as the representative of Invest Korea at Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA).
Kim Chang-wook, a former partner at KPMG who worked as a certified public accountant in New York and Los Angeles for 35 years, has joined as the head of the LA Cha Hospital management corporation. Park Beon, who has over 30 years of experience working at Samsung Group's financial institutions and restructuring headquarters (now Strategy Planning Office) and at the London branch, will join CHA Biotech to strengthen internal organization and affiliate management.
Earlier, CHA Biotech Group recruited Park Yu-han, who served as the representative of KBS Economic Weekly and KBS Business last July, as the head of Strategy Planning to promote organizational innovation throughout the group.
