Chairperson Seo Ji-hee./SK Biopharm

SK Biopharm announced on the 26th that it has appointed Seo Ji-hee, a special professor at Ewha Womans University, as the new chairperson of its board of directors. This is the first time a woman has been appointed as chairperson since its founding.

On the same day, during the regular shareholders' meeting and board of directors' meeting, SK Biopharm appointed Chairperson Seo and also named Kim Yong-jin, director of the Biomedical Research Institute at Seoul National University Hospital, and Jo Kyung-sun, former CEO of Shinhan DS, as new outside directors.

Chairperson Seo has built her expertise over more than 30 years in accounting, auditing, and risk management. She served as a partner at KPMG Samjong Accounting Corp, overseeing numerous corporations' accounting, audit, and risk management tasks, and was appointed as an outside director of SK Biopharm in March of last year, where she has been active on key committees such as the audit committee.

Professor Kim is an expert in medical data-based research and development, currently serving as the director of the Biomedical Research Institute at Seoul National University Hospital and as a professor in cardiology. In the future, she will be responsible for providing scientific advice on SK Biopharm's research and development strategy, technology adoption, and the expansion of its global new drug pipeline.

Former CEO Jo was the first female CEO of Shinhan Financial Group and served as CEO of Shinhan DS. She has built her expertise in areas such as digital transformation, financial IT, and management innovation.

Lee Dong-hoon, president of SK Biopharm, noted, "Through this board leadership enhancement, we will establish an independent and expert advisory system in key areas of corporate management, including research and development, management, and risk management."
