Han-dal Seon, honorary professor at Hallym University College of Medicine, passed away on the 22nd. He was 85 years old.
He served as the 4th president of Hallym University Medical Center, the 4th president of Hallym University, and the chairman of the National Cancer Center, dedicating his life to the development of healthcare and education in South Korea.
After graduating from Seoul National University College of Medicine, he received a Doctorate in Health Administration from the University of North Carolina. He then took on roles as an associate professor at Seoul National University Graduate School of Public Health, a professor in the Department of Social Medicine at Hallym University College of Medicine, dean of Hallym University College of Medicine, director of Hallym Medical Center, and then was appointed as the 4th president of Hallym University. He also left a significant impact on domestic and international healthcare policy and academic development through his involvement as the president of the Korean Society of Health Administration, president of the Korean Society of Preventive Medicine, and as a short-term advisor to the World Health Organization (WHO).
The mortuary is set up in the VIP room on the basement 2nd floor of Kangdong Sacred Heart Hospital, and the funeral is on the 24th. The burial site is at Bundang Memorial Park after passing through Seoul Memorial Park.
