A kindergarten teacher in her 20s, who fell into a coma before her wedding, donated her organs and gifted new life to five people.

The Korea Organ Donation Agency reported on the 20th that Ms. Lee Seul-bi, 29, donated her heart, lungs, liver, and both kidneys at Yeungnam University Hospital on the 27th of last month, saving five lives before passing away.

Ms. Lee lost consciousness and collapsed in her car while traveling to her hometown during the Lunar New Year holiday on Jan. 28. However, she did not regain consciousness and fell into a coma.

Her family found it difficult to accept the diagnosis that recovery was impossible. However, with the hope that instead of leaving in pain, she could do something good by saving someone’s life, they decided to proceed with the donation. Ms. Lee thus donated her heart, lungs, liver, and kidneys through organ donation, sharing life with five individuals.

Ms. Lee was born as the youngest of a son and a daughter in Daegu. Her family stated that she was bright and cheerful, receiving much love from those around her. They described her as a kind and innocent daughter who had never caused her parents any trouble. Ms. Lee had promised to marry her boyfriend in January next year and was preparing when she had the accident.

Since childhood, Ms. Lee loved children and fulfilled her dream of becoming a teacher. After graduating from college with a degree in child studies, she worked as a kindergarten teacher. She was diligent to the point of never taking a break after graduating and was a warm-hearted teacher who felt more sorrow when a child was hurt or cried.

Ms. Lee's mother said, “She was the best daughter in the world, the joy of my life and my greatest happiness,” and added, “Let’s meet again in heaven later. My most beautiful daughter, Seul-bi, I love you,” conveying her final farewell.
