Blue Phantom's Diamond Ring

On the 14th, a full moon slipped through Earth's dark shadow as a total lunar eclipse occurred. This image shows the Blue Ghost, a lunar probe from the U.S. space company Firefly Aerospace, capturing the basalt plain "Ocean of Storms" (Mare Crisium) located to the northeast of the moon's near side. Blue Ghost captured the "diamond ring" (Bailey's beads) effect, where sunlight scatters in Earth's atmosphere, surrounding the planet with a halo of light.
