The Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI) said it signed a memorandum of understanding with Yonsei University and Pasqal Korea on the 14th at Yonsei University's Sinchon campus to strengthen cooperation in research, education, and research infrastructure in the field of quantum computing. With this memorandum of understanding, the three institutions plan to embark on research into new quantum algorithms and software based on neutral atom quantum computers. In addition to collaborative research on quantum computers, they agreed to operate joint education and research programs, as well as internships.
The quantum standard technology company SDT noted that it conducted a tutorial session on solving quadratic unconstrained binary optimization (QUBO) problems using quantum approximate optimization algorithm (QAOA) at the Supercomputing Asia 2025 held from the 10th to the 13th at the Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Center in Singapore. SDT stated, "QUBO is a core model used to solve complex optimization problems such as portfolio optimization, risk management, asset allocation, and decision support in the finance sector."
