The Ministry of Science and ICT announced that it held the kickoff meeting of the technology commercialization support organization council on the afternoon of the 6th. The meeting, chaired by Vice Minister Lee Chang-yoon, was attended by specialized research management institutions under the Ministry of Science and ICT, corporations support organizations, and organizations responsible for the operation and management of grants for technology commercialization.
The council was launched to address issues such as overlapping roles, fragmented support, and lack of cooperation among the technology commercialization support organizations related to the Ministry of Science and ICT. It plans to hold regular meetings to establish an efficient technology commercialization support model and to propose policy directions through enhanced mutual cooperation.
Vice Minister Lee said, "We hope that the council's continuous operation will allow participating organizations to leverage their respective strengths and establish a system in which excellent public technologies developed with government support are commercialized without interruption." He noted, "The Ministry of Science and ICT will spare no effort in providing ongoing support for the successful and smooth operation of the council."
