Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST) and the Korea Research Institute of Chemical Technology have formed a joint research planning promotion committee and held the first meeting on the 20th. Attending the meeting were Professor Kwon Tae-hyeok from UNIST and Seo Bong-guk, head of the Precision Bio-Chemistry Research Institute at the Korea Research Institute of Chemical Technology. The two institutions discussed collaborative measures to develop national strategic technologies and enhance the competitiveness of regional industries. They plan to strengthen communication among researchers through regular research exchange meetings and to identify follow-up projects.
The Korea Intellectual Property Office announced on the 21st that it will hold the 64th regular general meeting and designate June 26 as "Patent Attorney Day" each year. June 26 commemorates the founding of the Joseon Patent Attorneys Association, the predecessor of the Korea Intellectual Property Office, which was established on June 26, 1946. On Patent Attorney Day, patent attorneys who have contributed to the development of national intellectual property will be recognized and awarded, along with individuals who have made contributions or achievements in the field of intellectual property, receiving the title of "Honorary Patent Attorney."
Minister Yoo Sang-im of the Ministry of Science and ICT visited the Korea Institute of Industrial Technology on the 21st, toured research facilities including the Robotics Perception Control Research Lab and the Bio-Robotics Research Lab, and held a field meeting on technology commercialization in the materials and manufacturing sector with members and experts from the institute. During the meeting, customized support measures for technology commercialization considering the characteristics of the materials and manufacturing sectors were discussed. The Ministry of Science and ICT plans to incorporate this content into the technology commercialization activation measures to be announced in March.
