■Telepix announced on the 17th that it has signed a memorandum of understanding to promote joint projects in the satellite field with LK SAMYANG. The two companies had previously signed a joint development agreement for next-generation star trackers for deep-space navigation in April last year. Through this memorandum of understanding, they agreed to proceed with the space launch tests of the AI image navigation system and to jointly work on mass production commercialization. The satellite equipped with the AI image navigation system being developed by the two companies is scheduled to be launched on a Falcon 9 rocket in June this year.
■The Korea Research Institute of Standards and Science held a "Korea-Japan Hydrogen Safety Workshop" on the 17th to strengthen collaboration in hydrogen safety technology and to establish a standardization cooperation system. This event was attended by ultra-low temperature and high-pressure hydrogen technology experts from both countries to discuss technical challenges and international cooperation options.
■ETRI Holdings, the technology holding company of the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI), announced that it will hold the "2025 Innovation Investment Forum" on the 19th. This event was held to promote technology commercialization startups using public technology and to support the discovery, investment, and growth of deep tech corporations. This year, it will invite major deep tech corporations in AI, quantum technology, information and communications technology (ICT) convergence, future mobility and robotics, and biomedical fields.
■Pohang University of Science and Technology POSTECH hosted the first workshop of the "Sustainable Campus Initiative" for two days starting from the 16th, inviting presidents and officials from three universities including Korea University, Seoul National University, and Yonsei University. This workshop was held to share sustainable education, research, and practical measures that each university is pursuing. The four universities are scheduled to hold the second workshop at Yonsei University in May.
