Gu Ja-kyun has succeeded in being re-elected as the chairman of the Korea Industrial Technology Association.
The association held its 47th regular general meeting on the afternoon of the 12th at the Grand InterContinental Hotel in Samseong-dong, Seoul, and elected Chairman Gu as the 18th chairman. His term is for three years.
Chairman Gu took office as the chairman of the association in February 2019. Since taking office, he announced the Day of Technology Development in 2022 to highlight the achievements of researchers in corporations' research and development (R&D) and boost their morale, and also supported the enactment of the Corporate Research Institute Act, which provides a legal basis for supporting corporate R&D. The association assessed that Chairman Gu has made significant contributions to expanding new businesses and broadening the scope of activities.
Through his acceptance speech, Chairman Gu noted, "I believe that the role of the association in assisting corporations' technological innovation is more important than ever due to the volatile internal and external situations and the long-term low growth trend," and added, "I will help enhance the vitality of corporations' R&D so that the industrial sector can leap together."
