On the 10th, Yuhan Corporation announced that it has signed a business agreement with Recens Medical, a company specializing in rapid precision cooling technology, for the marketing and sales of medical devices for treating skin diseases in pets.
The 'VetEase' developed by Recens Medical is a new medical device technology for treating skin diseases in pets that combines IceNeedling and exosomes. IceNeedling is a technique that transforms an ampoule into ice particles to penetrate the skin. Exosomes are small substances with a diameter of 50 to 200 nanometers derived from cells, playing a role in signaling between cells.
VetEase can be utilized in three ways with a single device. The 'In' mode applies VexoHeal, a medical device that combines exosome technology with wound dressing (disinfecting and treating the wound area, then fixing it with gauze or a bandage).
In the 'CX' mode, precision cooling anesthesia and treatment can reduce pain and inflammation. The 'FX' mode is equipped with the function of spraying ultra-low temperature carbon dioxide gas at minus 79 degrees Celsius to remove benign tumors from the skin painlessly.
According to a recent report by the Rural Development Administration on pet-related issues in Korea, the main reasons for visiting animal hospitals are skin-related diseases such as dermatitis, eczema, and itching, with treatment costs for skin diseases accounting for the largest portion of overall pet medical expenses.
Yuhan Corporation is recently supplying the domestically exclusive canine anticancer drug 'BoxLukin-15' along with 'Anicon.' The two companies plan to collaborate to develop the domestic and international animal pharmaceutical market, starting with the marketing and sales cooperation for VetEase.
Kim Seong-soo, executive director of Yuhan Corporation, noted that 'VetEase will reduce dependency on drugs such as steroids that have been used for existing skin diseases, minimize side effects, and most importantly, provide safe procedures without pain, offering comfort not only to pets but also to their guardians.' He added, 'In particular, we expect various possibilities for application and high therapeutic effects through the use of the exosome formulation VexoHeal.'
