LN Robotics, a company specializing in artificial intelligence and medical robots, announced on the 4th that it has appointed Donghee Kim as its new CEO.
LN Robotics is a company established in 2019 by Professor Jae-soon Choi and Professor Young-hak Kim from the Biomedical Engineering Research Institute at Seoul Asan Medical Center. The company develops medical robots, including robots for cardiovascular interventions.
Accordingly, the company will operate under a dual CEO system, transitioning from the previous single-CEO model held by Jae-soon Choi. The company expects that the specialization of each representative in their respective research and development (R&D) and business operation institutional sectors will enhance responsible management.
Donghee Kim, the new CEO, has over 20 years of experience in various roles within global healthcare corporations, building expertise and leadership. From 2011 to 2018, he led new business initiatives for transcatheter aortic valve implantation in major Asia-Pacific markets at Edwards Lifesciences, and from 2004 to 2011, he directed marketing for key products such as drug-eluting stents and echocardiograms at Boston Scientific's cardiovascular division.
He served as the representative of Philips Korea from 2018 to 2021 and as the head of health systems business for Philips Asia Pacific from 2021 to 2022. In January 2024, he joined LN Robotics as an advisory member and took charge of the overall business sector during the separation process of the R&D institutional sector and the management/business operation institutional sector.
CEO Kim said, "I will strive to promote LN Robotics' cutting-edge medical robot technology in the global market and successfully introduce it, leveraging the business experience and human network I have built over more than 20 years in multinational medical technology corporations." He added, "Ultimately, I will do my best to improve the clinical environment for medical staff and contribute to the health advancement of cardiovascular patients worldwide through open innovation facilitated by various partnerships."
