The Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute announced the transfer of its self-developed high-load dual-arm robot "ARMstrong" technology to Victek. The terms include a fixed technology fee of 180 million won and 3% of sales as a royalty. Victek is a corporation with remote robot control technology that assists radiation workers in nuclear power plant decommissioning sites and radiation environments. With this transfer of technology, Victek plans to deploy the ARMstrong robot at nuclear decommissioning sites for decontamination, cutting, and hazardous material transportation.
The National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) of Korea, along with the National Research Council of Science & Technology, The Korean Academy of Science and Technology, Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science & Creativity, and Korea Science Journalists Association, are jointly operating the Citizens' Life Science Advisory Group, which will hold the "24th Citizens' Life Science Talk Lounge" at 4 p.m. on the 24th, focusing on "Preventive Measures Against Deepfake Sexual Crimes." The advisory group plans to analyze abuse cases of deepfake technology and discuss technical, legal, and social responses to prevent such occurrences.
The Korea Institute of Energy Technology announced on the 21st that it signed an agreement with the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) of the U.S. on the 9th for research collaboration on carbon-neutral core technologies, including hydrogen, energy storage, and Taeyang. NREL is a national research institution under the U.S. Department of Energy that leads renewable energy and energy efficiency research in the United States. Through this memorandum of understanding, the two institutions plan to enhance cooperation in joint research areas and promote personnel exchanges.
