Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) and Chungnam National University announced on the 16th that they signed a memorandum of understanding to promote collaborative research in the bio field. KAIST and Chungnam National University plan to establish a research center to carry out joint research and exchange research infrastructure and specialized personnel. They also aim to develop a joint curriculum involving faculty from both schools.
The Korea Women in Nuclear Association announced on the 15th that it has established its first corporate chapter, the Future and Challenge Chapter. Future and Challenge is a nuclear engineering company founded in 2000. The association plans to promote mutual exchange and collaboration to strengthen the capabilities and expand the roles of female nuclear professionals within Future and Challenge.
The Ministry of Science and ICT announced that Minister Lee has visited the Korea Institute of Materials Science and the Korea Electrotechnology Research Institute on the 16th to hold a meeting on key policy issues. Minister Lee toured the major research facilities of the National Research Institutes and the manufacturing sites of corporations. During the meeting, Minister Lee noted that he would continue to improve the field-centered system to establish national research institutes as strategic technology research organizations.
