■GC Green Cross recently announced on the 10th the launch of its anti-inflammatory pain reliever "Teksan RAY" in a large 30-capsule product. Teksan RAY is the first compound soft capsule anti-inflammatory pain reliever in South Korea, effective in alleviating various pains, including menstrual pain, and lowering fever. It includes ibuprofen, which has anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects, pharmaceutical bromelain, which helps reduce swelling, and magnesium oxide, which provides antacid effects, making it possible to improve pain, swelling, and heartburn associated with the menstrual cycle all at once. The patented manufacturing method, Omni-Soft, was applied to combine three components that do not mix well into a single capsule, facilitating absorption in the body and minimizing gastrointestinal side effects.

■Samsung Biologics announced on the 10th that it held a "mutual growth cooperation day" aimed at enhancing partnerships with key partners. The event was attended by Kim Dong-jung, head of the Samsung Biologics Mutual Growth Cooperation Center (Vice President), executives, and over 50 representatives from major partners, including global suppliers Avantor, Cytiva, Merck, Sartorius, and Thermo Fisher. They reflected on the key achievements from the previous year and shared strategies for 2025, strengthening partnerships. Samsung Biologics urged cooperating companies to assist in achieving this year's major goals and enhancing price and quality competitiveness.

■Il Yang Pharmaceutical announced on the 10th that it held a memorial service at the tomb of the late Honorary Chairman Wi Je-jung in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province, marking the 7th anniversary of his death. The memorial honored the late chairman's devotion to realizing the company's commitment to the pharmaceutical industry through offerings and floral tributes. CEO Kim Dong-yeon noted in his eulogy, "We will carry on the passionate life and noble spirit of Chairman Jeong, who valued the dignity of life as the highest value, as a tradition of Il Yang Pharmaceutical." Chairman Jeong Do-eon praised the late chairman and stated, "Let’s make Il Yang Pharmaceutical continue to progress in a way that is loved by the public and contributes to public health."

■Dong-A Pharmaceutical announced on the 10th that it has selected singer Lee Chan-won as the new model for "Max Chondroitin 1200" and will broadcast a new advertisement through TV and digital media. Max Chondroitin 1200, an over-the-counter medicine, contains 1200 mg of sodium chondroitin sulfate, the highest single dose in South Korea. Chondroitin, a main component of elastic fibers that protect cartilage, can help reduce symptoms of degenerative arthritis when taken. It is the first oral gel-type product among chondroitin-containing products in Korea, offering convenience with a dosage of one packet per day. Max Chondroitin 1200 is available for purchase at nearby pharmacies.

■CG Bio announced on the 10th that it has produced a new product, "Lemona Vitamin C Patch," for Gyeongnam Pharmaceutical using its microneedle manufacturing technology. This product was developed based on CG Bio's research and development expertise and manufacturing technology, utilizing Daewoong Therapeutics' patented CLOPAM® technology to effectively deliver active ingredients through a microneedle patch. This manufacturing collaboration was conducted in an original design manufacturing (ODM) manner, and CG Bio is planning to expand into the cosmetic sector with microneedle patch ODM as well as original equipment manufacturing (OEM) business.

■Seoul National University Hospital announced on the 10th that it is operating the "Mind the Rest Center," which develops non-drug treatment services for mental health. This center focuses on expanding non-drug treatment options to contribute to solving mental health issues in partnership with the educational publishing company Good Book New Thinking. Through this initiative, Seoul National University Hospital provides patients with tailored treatment methods in addition to drug treatments, presenting a new paradigm for mental health care.

■Korea University Guro Hospital announced on the 10th that it has surpassed 2,000 cases of single-port (SP) robotic surgeries. This is seen as evidence of the hospital's outstanding medical technology and expertise in the field of single-port robotic surgery. Single-port robotic surgery is a technique that allows for precision surgery with minimal incisions, reducing patient pain and recovery time while minimizing scarring. Since introducing the SP robotic surgical system in 2022, Korea University Guro Hospital has trained medical personnel not only domestically but also in the United States, Germany, France, Japan, and worldwide. It was designated in 2023 as the world's first educational center for "single-port thoracic robotic surgery" and "single-port pelvic organ prolapse robotic surgery."

■Yonsei University Yongin Severance Hospital announced on the 10th that it has received an A grade for the fourth consecutive year in the 2024 emergency medical institution evaluation. This assessment, conducted from July 2023 to June 2024, involved 408 emergency medical institutions nationwide. Yongin Severance Hospital met the criteria for essential areas such as facilities, equipment, and personnel, obtaining the highest grades in most evaluation indicators in terms of safety, effectiveness, timeliness, functionality, and public interest, ranking second among regional emergency centers in Gyeonggi Province.
