The Ministry of Health and Welfare noted that it is operating a disaster medical support system regarding the Jeju Air passenger plane accident that occurred at Muan International Airport in Jeollanam-do on the 29th.
On that day at 9:12 a.m., the ministry immediately issued a 'Code Orange' and began medical response. Currently, quick response teams from health centers near the accident site and a total of three Disaster Medical Assistance Teams (DMAT) from the Gwangju and Jeollanam-do areas have been deployed to support emergency medical care.
To ensure a swift response and recovery at the scene, Vice Minister Park Min-soo was urgently dispatched to the accident site.
Minister Cho Gyu-hong, after receiving reports on the status of casualties and response measures, said, "We will do our best to provide emergency medical assistance to minimize casualties by actively cooperating with the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters (CDC)."
