meerecompany in Korea announced on the 23rd that it has signed a contract to export its laparoscopic surgical robot, Revo-i, to Paraguay. Revo-i is expected to be installed in medical institutions under the Ministry of Health and Welfare of Paraguay through a local medical device company.

Revo-i is the first laparoscopic surgical robot developed by meerecompany, receiving domestic approval in 2017. It is characterized by high-resolution 3D stereoscopic imaging, a wide field of view, and precise movements through multi-joint instruments. The leading laparoscopic surgical robot currently is the Da Vinci, developed by the American company Intuitive Surgical, which holds an 80% share of the global market.

Meerecompany has expanded its market starting with Uzbekistan in 2022, followed by Morocco last year, and this year to Russia and Mongolia. This contract for export to Paraguay marks its first entry into the South American market. The company expects that this contract will serve as an important foothold for expanding into other South American countries, such as Brazil and Argentina.

Lee Ho-geun, head of the surgical robot division at Meerecompany, noted, “We plan to continue expanding exports and market development next year,” adding, “Especially in several countries in Southeast Asia that are awaiting certification, new sales opportunities are expected.”
