On Dec. 24, the Severance Hospital Male Nursing Society visited hospitalized children to perform a show. The Male Nursing Society showcased dances wearing character costumes from popular children's animations such as Pororo, Baby Shark, Hachu Ping, and Carbot in the lounge on the first floor of the children's hospital. They also dressed up as Santa Claus and visited the wards of the children's hospital and cardiovascular departments to cheer up young patients, deliver snacks, and take photos to provide valuable gifts to the children.

On Dec. 24, Remed's subsidiary, Remed Brain Team, announced the launch of the electronic drug "MUSFIT," which stimulates and maintains muscles through electromagnetic fields. It took approximately three years since the development began in 2022 to obtain approval from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety for medical devices. MUSFIT is effective in three areas: rehabilitation, treatment, and maintenance of muscles, and it is developed to assist strength training for the elderly to prevent falls and for rehabilitating conditions like urinary incontinence and voiding disorders. Unlike existing pain treatment equipment focused on alleviating muscle pain, MUSFIT is specialized in muscle strengthening, encouraging the reinforcement of the three major muscles related to muscle weakness: the gluteus, quadriceps, and erector spinae. The consolidation between nerves and muscles is strengthened, which can solve problems arising from muscle weakness.

On Dec. 24, PharmaResearch announced that the total sales revenue from the 'Christmas charity bazaar' held in collaboration with its employee volunteer group 'Paprika' would be donated to the Green Umbrella Children's Foundation. The total amount donated from this bazaar was 15,577,520 won, which was raised through a matching grant method where the company additionally supported the same amount as the sales revenue. The donations will be used to support winter heating expenses for low-income households in Gangneung City through the Gangwon Regional Headquarters of the Green Umbrella Children's Foundation.

On Dec. 24, Samsung Seoul Hospital announced that it reduced 20 tons (t) of general waste over five months by using reusable containers instead of disposable ones in some funeral halls since July. Samsung Seoul Hospital explained that after introducing 'eco-friendly funeral culture' as the first among high-level general hospitals to use reusable containers in funeral halls last July, it confirmed these effects through pilot operation in some facilities. The hospital plans to expand the use of reusable containers to all facilities starting in January, predicting a reduction of more than 100 tons (t) of general waste. In a satisfaction survey conducted with visitors and bereaved families who used reusable containers, the hospital received feedback such as 'the containers were clean and hygienic,' 'I was glad to participate in the eco-friendly policy,' and 'it felt more thoughtful since they were not disposable.'

On Dec. 24, Korea University College of Medicine announced that Professor Sunwoong from the Department of Anatomy has recently won the 2024 Korea Science Prize. The Korea Science Prize, administered by the Ministry of Science and ICT, is awarded to individuals who have made significant contributions to achieving world-class research outcomes in the natural sciences. Professor Sun developed a technique for producing mini spinal cords derived from human induced pluripotent stem cells, introducing a new model for spinal embryonic research and motor neuron diseases. This technique is utilized in spinal developmental disorder research and drug toxicity evaluation systems and has been successfully applied to research on intractable diseases such as neural tube defects.

On Dec. 24, Yuhan Corporation announced that it has begun operating a personalized health management program called "Health ON" for employees in collaboration with the Dongjak District Health Center starting this month to create a healthy workplace culture. About 30 employees who applied for this program will receive personalized consultations based on blood pressure, body composition, and blood tests. They will undergo 1:1 tailored consultations, followed by monitoring with six-month feedback on nutrition and exercise. Additionally, the company supports an in-house health management office and annual comprehensive health screenings, while conducting a smoking cessation campaign for employees. It matches those wishing to quit smoking with supporters, and if they succeed in quitting smoking, the two individuals donate treatment costs in their names to the Korean Cancer Association twice. Currently, they are recruiting applicants for the second smoking cessation campaign.

On Dec. 24, Celltrion announced that it has simultaneously obtained the "Space Safety Certification" from the Korea Safety Certification Institute and the "Excellent Research Laboratory Certification" from the Ministry of Science and ICT. The "Space Safety Certification" is the only corporate autonomous safety evaluation in South Korea supervised by the National Fire Agency, introduced to establish a safety-focused corporate culture and enhance public safety. It is awarded to establishments that obtain more than 80% in evaluations of a total of seven categories, including safety management, architectural disaster prevention, fire safety, and hazardous material safety, as well as 143 detailed assessment items.

On Dec. 24, Il Dong Pharmaceutical Group's Il Dong Bioscience announced that it has received the "NON-GMO" certification for its functional ingredient probiotics. This certification signifies that the product, goods, raw materials, and materials do not contain genetically modified organisms (GMOs). Il Dong Bioscience recently obtained NON-GMO certification for its 20 strains of probiotics from the NON-GMO PROJECT, the most authoritative verification organization in North America.

On Dec. 24, Medical IP, a digital twin solution company based on AI, announced that it has established a strategic partnership with Health On Cloud to expand its global market presence and network for its entire product lineup, including medical imaging-based AI solutions. This partnership aims to specify and deepen the implementation strategy of the agreement, allowing Medical IP to utilize the global network held by Health On Cloud to actively enter the markets of Central and South America, the United States, the United Kingdom, and China.

On Dec. 24, Senacore Soft, a digital healthcare corporation, announced that it has obtained a patent for the pre-check function for insurance reviews within its cloud EMR service "Orem Chart" designed for primary healthcare institutions. The patent is titled "Medical Clinical Decision Device and Method," and using Orem Chart allows for effective processing of specialized medical documents such as notices from the Ministry of Health and Welfare and licensing requirements from the Food and Drug Administration. It restructures various types of documents related to insurance reviews to facilitate processing by healthcare professionals and provides quick checks on whether the criteria are met by connecting with the data written by healthcare professionals.
