GS Caltex donated 400 million won to foster multicultural talent at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST).

On the 19th, KAIST announced that it signed a partnership agreement with GS Caltex at the GS Tower in Gangnam, Seoul, to foster multicultural talent. The donation ceremony was attended by GS Caltex President Heo Se-hong and KAIST President Lee Kwang-hyung.

Through this agreement, GS Caltex will provide KAIST with annual grants of 100 million won for four years starting in 2024. KAIST plans to use this development fund to provide scholarships for multicultural students and promote a mentoring program for multicultural youth.

President Heo Se-hong said, “As an energy corporation, I am very pleased to practice our social responsibility and share warm energy with our marginalized and vulnerable neighbors. We will continue to support children and teenagers from multicultural families so that they do not lose their dreams and can grow well as members of our society.”

Since Lee Kwang-hyung took office as president, KAIST has raised 259.9 billion won in development funds, averaging 190 million won per day. The president noted that he aimed to secure daily donations of 100 million won when he took office in 2021.
