The National Science and Technology Council (NST) held a 'Communication Gathering - Day of Interaction for Research Institutes' at the Daejeon Esports Stadium on the afternoon of the 19th at 2 p.m. The event was planned to enhance the sense of belonging and solidarity among personnel in research and development (R&D) institutions through regular exchanges among members of research institutes and to create a new culture of innovation based on collaboration. During the gathering, a guest lecture titled 'Breaking Down Barriers Among Research Institutes from the Perspective of Architect Yoo Hyun-jun' and networking sessions in the fields of R&D and administration were conducted. From the following year, each institution will sequentially hold events quarterly.

The Korea Federation of Science and Technology (KOSTI), hosted the '2024 Excellent Academic Society Awards Ceremony and Performance Sharing Meeting,' which took place on the afternoon of the 18th at 2 p.m. at the Korea Science and Technology Center, with over 250 attendees from academic society staff. Since 2019, KOSTI has evaluated various academic activities such as the publication of academic journals and the hosting of academic conferences to select excellent academic societies. This year, through an in-depth evaluation by experts, 10 societies were selected as excellent academic societies, and awards were presented by the Minister of Science and ICT and the President of KOSTI.

The Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information (KISTI) announced on the 19th the launch of its artificial intelligence (AI) 'AI-Reviewer' service, which enables insight derivation through comparative analysis of multiple papers and Q&A on the science and technology knowledge infrastructure 'ScienceON.' The AI-Reviewer service compares and analyzes up to 10 papers, providing review results from 11 perspectives, including research objectives, constraints, differences from previous studies, and research methods. Users can engage in Q&A-style conversation with the AI and gain additional insights through recommended questions posed by the AI.

The Ministry of Science and ICT's National Busan Science Center announced that it held the opening ceremony for the 'Future Carbon-Neutral City Exhibition Hall' on the 19th in collaboration with Korea Hydro and Nuclear Power Corporation at the permanent exhibition hall on the second floor of the Busan Science Center (Energy Science Hall, Hall 3). The Future Carbon-Neutral City Exhibition Hall comprises main exhibition facilities showcasing 'The Eco Green World' implemented by four robotic arms and flying robots, as well as advanced exhibits related to the carbon-neutral Smart Net-zero City. During the opening ceremony, about 30 officials attended to celebrate the establishment of the new exhibition hall and to view the exhibition facilities.
