The Korea Science Journalists Association announced that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Korean Chemical Society to enhance public awareness of research and development achievements in the field of chemistry. Through this agreement, the two organizations will cooperate in promoting field reporting programs for science journalists' research presentations during academic conferences, disseminating and publicizing research and development achievements in the chemistry sector, activating mutual exchange and communication between the media and researchers in the field of chemistry, and supporting the hosting and participation of events, including expert recommendations.
The Science and Technology Policy Institute (STEPI) announced that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Australian Strategic Policy Institute to establish a policy research cooperation network between think tanks. The two institutions agreed to collaborate on sharing science and technology-related security data and conducting joint policy research on strategic technologies through participation in the 'Global Intelligence Network Establishment Project,' which aims to build a global think tank network proposed by STEPI.
The Korea Aerospace Research Institute announced that the Goheung Aerospace Center, which operates as an aviation specialized establishment, was re-certified as an excellent establishment during the 'Hazard Assessment Excellent Establishment Selection' process conducted by the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency on the 11th. The 'Excellent Establishment for Hazard Assessment' is a system that certifies organizations recognized for their safety by reviewing whether the establishment itself identifies harmful and risky factors and whether measures are established to reduce risks such as injuries and accidents.
The Institute for Basic Science will hold a special presentation on the 18th at the Kim Hee-su Art Center Space One of the Sulim Cultural Foundation. During this presentation, traditional music research combining scientific approaches and artificial intelligence will be showcased. The Large Traditional Music Data Research Group mathematically analyzed a large-scale data set centered on Jeongak (music from the Goryeo and Joseon Dynasties' royal courts and upper class) to explore the principles of traditional music and applied artificial intelligence techniques for creation. The traditional music ensemble piece created by the research group will be premiered at this event.
Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST) and Seoul National University have decided to strengthen industry-academia cooperation to lead future industrial development and technological innovation. UNIST announced that on Nov. 29, a delegation of 11 officials from Seoul National University visited the UNIST campus to tour major research facilities and discussed cooperation plans between the two institutions during a meeting with the industry-academia cooperation team. The two universities will expand joint research in advanced technology fields and promote the rapid commercialization of new technologies based on human resource exchange.
