Have you ever seen the Pleiades star cluster? Even if you have, you probably haven't seen it this large and clear. The Pleiades star cluster can be seen with the naked eye even in the middle of a city with serious light pollution. It is likely the most famous cluster in the sky.
When taking long exposure shots in a dark place, the dust clouds surrounding the Pleiades star cluster are clearly revealed. This photo was taken using a 23-hour long exposure technique in Pagagna, Italy. It captures a vast sky several times the size of a full moon. The Seven Sisters, or M45, are located about 400 light-years away in the direction of Taurus (a light-year is the distance light travels in one year, about 9.46 trillion kilometers).
There are stories that after being nicknamed the Seven Sisters star cluster, one bright star disappeared, making it possible to see only six stars with the naked eye. However, the actual number of visible stars in the Pleiades star cluster can be more or less than seven, depending on the darkness of the surrounding sky and the observer's eyesight.
