Dong-A Otsuka said on the 15th that it has unveiled the "guide running teaching aid for people with visual impairments," the first by domestic corporations.
Dong-A Otsuka said the teaching aid contains, in the form of a video manual, content that can be used in actual running situations, from basic communication methods needed when a runner with visual impairments and a guide runner run together to precautions for movement and running.
The video can be viewed on Dong-A Otsuka's official YouTube channel, and the production process was reviewed by the Korea Visually Impaired Sports Federation, Korea Visually Impaired Marathon VMK, and Guide Run Project.
The video provides step-by-step guidance on what a guide runner needs to know, from the preparation stage before running to post-run situations.
Chief Executive Park Cheol-ho of Dong-A Otsuka said, "Pocari Sweat's goal is to create an environment where everyone can run together," adding, "We hope this teaching aid helps runners with visual impairments and guide runners understand each other and run safely."
Meanwhile, Dong-A Otsuka said on the 8th that it would run the "Pocari Sweat Guide Runner Training Program (Parangdalbeot 3rd class)" to train running partners for runners with visual impairments.
